Pitney Bowes is committed to sustainable growth in keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). And for the first time, the company aligned the content of this year’s Corporate Responsibility Report with the UN blueprint by highlighting individual SDGs. Of the UN’s 17 SDGs, Pitney Bowes identified nine with the greatest opportunity to influence progress toward: good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, and life on land. In his letter to shareholders, customers, partners and employees this year, Mr. Lautenbach pointed to highlights from 2020 that included:

  • Global commitment to sustainable operations by achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 through efficient use of energy in Pitney Bowes sites and fleet, increased use of renewable energy, and offset of carbon emissions.
  • A reduction in the environmental impact of Pitney Bowes products via sustainable life cycle of SendTech products, responsible packaging, and minimal impact of waste.
