Mitsubishi Electric Completes Initial Verifications of QZS-1R, Successor to the Original Michibiki Quasi-Zenith Satellite
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO:6503) has confirmed the successful verification of functions and performance for its QZS-1R satellite, which was delivered to the Cabinet Office of Japan. This satellite, launched on October 26, 2021, is designed to enhance high-precision positioning services in Japan. With improved durability, the QZS-1R is expected to extend its design life by five years compared to its predecessor. Launching today, the satellite will support various positioning services along with future satellites QZS-5 to QZS-7 for enhanced positioning capabilities.
