RESTON, Va., May 05, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lightbridge Corporation (Nasdaq: LTBR), an advanced nuclear fuel technology company, today announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the Eurasian Patent Office for its CANDU-type nuclear fuel assembly design. Specifically, this is a divisional patent of the 2015 PCT application relating to a CANDU-type fuel assembly having a mixed grid pattern.

According to the World Nuclear Association, there are 47 CANDU-type pressurized heavy water reactors in use around the world.
