The investigation concerns whether the fragrance and flavor companies colluded to raise and fix the prices of fragrance products, not to supply specific customers, and to limit production of their fragrance products in violation of the Sherman Act.
The investigation comes on the heels of coordinated investigations and dawn raids by the antitrust divisions of the U.S. Department Justice, the European Commission, Swiss Competition Commission, and the U.K Competition and Markets Authority, and extensive media attention that followed this past March.
