WHEATON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- First Trust Advisors L.P. (“FTA”) announced today that shareholders of First Trust Enhanced Equity Income Fund (NYSE: FFA) (the “Fund”), a closed-end fund, have voted to approve a new investment sub-advisory agreement with Chartwell Investment Partners, LLC (“Chartwell”). Earlier this month, Raymond James acquired substantially all the assets of TriState Capital Holdings (“TriState”), the parent company of Chartwell (the “Transaction”). The Transaction operated as an “assignment” of the Fund’s previous sub-advisory agreement with Chartwell, which automatically terminated upon the closing of the Transaction. In anticipation of the Closing, the Board of Trustees of the Fund approved a new investment sub-advisory agreement (the “New Sub-Advisory Agreement”) among the Fund, FTA and Chartwell, which was submitted to shareholders of the Fund for approval at a special meeting of shareholders.

FTA is a federally registered investment advisor and serves as the Fund’s investment advisor. FTA and its affiliate First Trust Portfolios L.P. (“FTP”), a FINRA registered broker-dealer, are privately-held companies that provide a variety of investment services. FTA has collective assets under management or supervision of approximately $203 billion as of May 31, 2022 through unit investment trusts, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, mutual funds and separate managed accounts. FTA is the supervisor of the First Trust unit investment trusts, while FTP is the sponsor. FTP is also a distributor of mutual fund shares and exchange-traded fund creation units. FTA and FTP are based in Wheaton, Illinois.
