First Bancorp (NASDAQ - FBNC) reported a net income of $29.3 million for Q2 2021, reflecting an 83.9% increase per share from Q2 2020, driven by lower credit costs. - On June 1, 2021, the Company announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire Select Bancorp, Inc., headquartered in Dunn, North Carolina, which operates 22 branches and has
$1.8 billion in assets. This transaction is subject to regulatory and shareholder approval, and is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2021. - On June 30, 2021, the Company completed the sale of the operations and substantially all of the operating assets of its property and casualty insurance agency subsidiary, First Bank Insurance Services, to Bankers Insurance, LLC for an initial purchase price valued at
