MADISON, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Exact Sciences Corp. (NASDAQ: EXAS), a leading provider of cancer screening and diagnostic tests, today announced it has received the 2024 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA). This award recognizes the most engaged workplace cultures in the world.

Gallup created the Exceptional Workplace Award to identify excellence and celebrate organizations that incorporate employee engagement into the bedrock of how they do their work, motivate their teams, and achieve business outcomes.

"Our sincere gratitude goes out to our amazing team at Exact Sciences who made winning the Gallup Exceptional Workplace recognition possible," said Sarah Condella, executive vice president of human resources at Exact Sciences. "Our culture, driven by shared values and collaboration, fosters a community where innovation thrives. We’re honored to receive this award as it highlights Exact Sciences' dedication to teamwork, well-being, and professional growth, while reinforcing our commitment to our mission of helping to eradicate cancer."

The GEWA winners’ ratio of engaged employees to actively disengaged employees is 11 times higher than the global average. Worldwide, only 23% of employees are engaged — that is, committed to their work and connected to their workplace — and just 33% of employees in the U.S. workforce are engaged. Seventy percent of employees at winning GEWA organizations are engaged.

“Congratulations to the 60 organizations that have redefined what it means to be a great place to work. Your commitment to creating environments where employees are listened to, valued, and positioned to use their strengths every day is what sets you apart. Thank you for setting a new global standard in what it means to be a thriving workplace,” said Jon Clifton, chief executive officer at Gallup.

Gallup’s meta-analysis on team engagement and performance is the most comprehensive workplace study ever conducted, with data on more than 2 million employees in 276 organizations across 54 industries and 96 countries. The company’s research shows that highly engaged organizations significantly outperform their peers in important business outcomes, including customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, quality, well-being, and organizational citizenship.

Exact Sciences has also been awarded 2024 Top Workplace honors by USA Today and the Wisconsin State Journal, underscoring the company’s dedication to fostering a people-first workplace culture and prioritizing the employee experience. This list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage. The confidential, proprietary survey measures the employee experience and its component themes of employees feeling Respected and Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute. Results were evaluated by comparing responses to research-based statements that predict high performance against industry benchmarks.
