Defense Technologies International Corp. (DTII) Enters into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) Sponsored by the Department of Homeland Securities ("DHS")
Defense Technologies International Corp. (DTII) has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate. This collaboration will involve the assessment of various weapon screening systems, including DTII's Passive Portal Walk-Through Weapons Detector, during a field test from August 19-22, 2024. The evaluation will focus on numerous criteria, including threat detection, operational efficiency, and cybersecurity measures. The Passive Portal is notable for its zero-radiation technology, setting it apart from other scanners that use electromagnetic radiation.
The results from this assessment will be important for DTII, potentially validating the effectiveness and safety of its technology, and may lead to broader adoption in public safety scenarios.
- CRADA with DHS creates a significant validation opportunity for DTII's technology.
- Field test scheduled for August 19-22, 2024.
- Zero-radiation technology distinguishes Passive Portal from competitors.
- Extensive assessment criteria highlight thorough evaluation process.
- Potential for increased adoption in public safety scenarios if tests are successful.
- No immediate financial gain reported from the CRADA.
- Evaluation results are uncertain and may not favor DTII's technology.
- Operational field assessment duration is relatively short, which might not capture all operational challenges.
- Dependence on external evaluators' judgment for assessment results.
- Potential high competition from other weapon screening systems assessed.
