The national health system has purchased the 254-bed full-service hospital and its related businesses, physician clinic operations and outpatient services. AdventHealth is renaming the hospital AdventHealth Port Charlotte and welcoming more than 1,300 new team members and more than 80 providers into the organization.

The new name reflects AdventHealth's national brand and network of care. All related care sites and physician practices have also been rebranded to AdventHealth.
