The Coretec Group Announces Initial Findings from Cyclohexasilane Testing with The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission
The Coretec Group has announced promising results from tests on its cyclohexasilane (CHS) technology aimed at producing silicon nanowires for lithium-ion batteries. Collaborating with The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), initial tests revealed CHS demonstrated the lowest deposition temperatures and highest yields of silicon nanomaterials to date. This advancement has the potential to enhance the performance of lithium-ion batteries. The company plans further research to explore the capabilities of CHS and its composites.
- Promising test results for cyclohexasilane technology in producing silicon nanowires for lithium-ion batteries.
- CHS demonstrated lower deposition temperatures and higher yields of silicon nanomaterials.
- Potential for enhanced cycling performance in lithium-ion batteries.
- None.
The Company achieved promising results in its cyclohexasilane technology’s ability to grow silicon nanowires for the development of lithium-ion batteries
Earlier this year,
During initial testing, The CEA found promising results. The organization has previously used several silane-based materials in their research and revealed that CHS demonstrated the lowest deposition temperatures they have observed to date and showed the highest yields of silicon nanomaterials. Additionally, the testing found a unique hybrid of composite materials, consisting of both nanowires as well as nanoflakes, when using CHS as a silicon source.
“The unique low temperature reactivity of CHS is really promising,” said Dr.
“While only a first step, we are pleased with the initial results of our CHS testing with The CEA, positioning us well for continued and more advanced analysis that we hope to demonstrate with potential customers and partners,” said Dr.
