24/7 Onsite Physical Security Increasingly Important to Data Center Risk Mitigation

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BCS Data Center Operations (BCS), one of the fastest growing data center operators in North America, has been selected by a leading global colocation provider to deliver 24/7 onsite physical security personnel at multiple North American data center sites. The announcement comes as more data center owners are looking to improve physical security and mitigate operational risk involving critical infrastructure assets.

BCS has been selected to perform onsite property physical security, encompassing BCS-trained W2 security officers, security-access administration, facility security-screening protocols, physical security rounds, security system monitoring, access control, incident documentation and investigation, as well as vendor and client escorts. The selection of BCS to deliver physical security solutions at multiple North American facilities was made with the intention of adding additional sites as the client’s needs grow.

“Given today’s hyper-focus on environmental, health, safety and security, the need for efficient and effective data center physical security programs and systems has never been more critical,” said BCS CEO Danny Crocker. “BCS was chosen because of our data center expertise, security programs that support our personnel in the field, and a willingness to develop a solution tailored specifically to the client’s requirements. The BCS security solution is also scalable to support their continued growth and business needs.”

The announcement comes at a time when data center owners are more closely scrutinizing current physical security programs and systems to determine how to minimize the risks inherent with data centers and other critical infrastructure while maintaining a well-trained security staff.

In October, Colliers (Nasdaq and TSX: CIGI), a diversified real estate, professional services and investment management company, announced a strategic partnership with BCS to provide market-leading data center management services to Colliers’ clients and to broaden its data center and critical facility portfolio capabilities.
