Illinois American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation announced a $20,000 grant to the Chicago Urban League (CUL) as part of a larger Foundation Corporate Strategic grant. The funding will support workforce development initiatives in the Chicago Metropolitan area, particularly focusing on African Americans and historically underserved groups.
CUL's Workforce Development Center serves over 3,700 individuals annually, offering training in high-growth industries including IT, Clean Energy, Supply Chain Logistics, Construction/Building Trades, and Healthcare. The center provides career pathway coaching, specialized training, and employment assistance.
