“Food for work is bigger - and more complex - than ever before,” said Chris Cuddy, Executive Chair of the Board of Directors, ezCater. “Laura’s and Beverly’s diverse experience and relevant, strategic knowledge will make a real impact as we continue to solve our customers’ food needs.”

Born and Carmichael bring decades of leadership experience across technology, e-commerce, restaurants, and finance. With their addition, ezCater’s Board now comprises eight Directors, three of whom are women.

“Laura and Beverly bring a fresh point of view to ezCater. They’ve seen a lot in their careers, and their experience is powerful for us,” said Stefania Mallett, co-founder and CEO, ezCater. “Our customers come from a wide variety of industries. Welcoming Laura and Beverly as Directors helps our Board better reflect that customer breadth - and the perspectives of our restaurant partners and employees, too.”

Born has 30 years of experience in providing corporate finance, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions advice. She spent nearly two decades in investment banking at JP Morgan, where she served as a Managing Director. She serves as the Audit Chair and a Director at Carlson Inc., a privately held company that has operated in the restaurant, hospitality, and travel industries and currently operates a middle market private equity business. Born is also an adjunct professor of finance at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.

“ezCater is solving a high stakes need for their customers. Even though they’re already a leader in food for work, there is still so much opportunity,” said Born. “Not only does ezCater have great momentum, but the people are terrific too! I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.”

Carmichael has more than 25 years of leadership experience in technology, restaurants, airlines, and entertainment. She previously served as the top human resources executive at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Ticketmaster, and Southwest Airlines, and is a licensed attorney specializing in labor and employment law. Carmichael currently serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Apron (NYSE: APRN), where she chairs the People, Culture and Compensation Committee and is a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee. She also is a Director and a member of the Human Resources Committee and the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee at Viad Corp (NYSE: VVI), a Director at Cotton Patch Café, and a Director at the Oklahoma Policy Institute.

“ezCater has filled a huge gap and is monumentally changing the way we think about food at work, and I’m thrilled to join their Board,” said Carmichael. “What an opportunity for restaurants and caterers to grow their business and entrust it to a company like ezCater that can actually make it happen.”
