Insights
The partnership between ADS-TEC Energy and Paragon Mobility marks a significant development in France's EV charging infrastructure. With over 206,000 new EVs registered in France since early 2024, this collaboration addresses a critical market need. The deployment of ChargePost systems, capable of 300 kW charging even on weak grids, is a game-changer for rapid EV adoption.
Key benefits include:
- Dual vehicle charging up to 150 kW each
- 201 kWh battery storage for grid stabilization
- Potential for additional revenue through digital advertising
- Flexibility to charge buses and trucks
This partnership positions both companies to capitalize on France's growing EV market, potentially accelerating the country's transition to electric mobility. The ability to overcome grid limitations is particularly important for widespread adoption. However, the success will depend on the speed of deployment and user acceptance of these new charging solutions.
This partnership has broader implications for the energy sector beyond just EV charging. The ChargePost system's bidirectional capabilities and potential to form virtual power plants represent a significant step towards grid flexibility and energy optimization.
Key points:
- Ability to use renewable or locally-generated electricity
- Bidirectional energy flow for grid support
- Potential for scaling storage capacity through networking
- Opportunity for energy arbitrage (storing when cheap, using when expensive)
These features align with the growing trend of decentralized energy systems and smart grid technologies. For investors, this signals potential long-term value beyond the immediate EV market. It positions ADS-TEC Energy and Paragon Mobility at the intersection of transportation and energy sectors, potentially opening up new revenue streams and market opportunities as the energy landscape evolves.

Paragon Mobility is deploying ChargePost because of its industry-leading features. Up to two vehicles can be quickly charged at the same time. It supports up to 300 kW or 150 kW when charging two vehicles simultaneously. ChargePost can also include two large 75-inch LED displays for digital advertising to generate new revenue streams.
Paragon Mobility can use renewable or locally-generated electricity to charge the ChargePost battery. Its 201 kWh battery storage unit supports bidirectional use to feed energy back into the grid when required. It can also boost or stabilize weak grid connections. Several ChargePost systems can be networked to form a virtual power plant, scaling storage capacity and marketing options. With this approach, electricity is stored when it is cheap or abundant for use when it is scarce or expensive.
ADS-TEC Energy's solutions and services give Paragon the flexibility to support more than car charging. Paragon Mobility already uses ChargePost for charging electric buses. Other customers are using ChargeBox and ChargePost to charge trucks.
